Applications : Civil engineering, engineering structures, steel and concrete construction

Mixed steel and concrete structures

Process : Stud welding ARC

Concrete anchor studs with a smooth cylindrical shaft and a smooth cylindrical head are intended to be welded to a steel element on site or, if necessary, in the workshop for prefabricated elements.

These connectors, used to join steel beams and concrete slabs, are also referred to as refractory head studs and are the most widely used connectors in Europe.

The forge arc stud welding process guarantees a particularly safe welding process for anchor studs. Ceramic ferrule arc welding generates an electric arc between the welding stud and the stud to be welded, thus achieving complete fusion between the two. The refractory ceramic ring or ferrule forms a collar that protects the molten pool caused by the voltaic arc from oxidation.
